We produce green hydrogen (99% pure) through Haffner's advanced gasification technology, perfect for industrial and fuel cell applications. By integrating additional purification systems like PSA or cryogenic filtration, we elevate this to ultra-high purity (99.999%) hydrogen, meeting the exacting standards required for semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, and aerospace applications. The distinction lies in both purity levels and applications: our standard green hydrogen delivers sustainable energy solutions, while our ultra-high purity hydrogen enables cutting-edge technological processes where even minimal impurities could compromise performance



E-Bio SAF



Haffner Energy is developing E-Bio SAF (Renewable Biomass-based Sustainable Aviation Fuel) using its HYNOCA® gasification technology, which converts agricultural and forestry waste into clean syngas (H₂ + CO) for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis into 100% renewable, drop-in jet fuel. Unlike conventional biofuels, Haffner’s process can achieve carbon-negative SAF by sequestering biochar, offering airlines a scalable, fossil-free solution. While not yet in full commercial production, Haffner is actively advancing partnerships (e.g., with Airbus and TotalEnergies) and pilot projects (like Vitry-le-François) to bring this breakthrough SAF to market.



Industries applicaions



Hydrogen is a clean energy powerhouse with diverse applications. In **mobility**, it fuels zero-emission vehicles like trucks, buses, trains, and even future aircraft using hydrogen fuel cells or combustion. The aviation sector also explores hydrogen-based **sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)** to decarbonize air travel. Industries rely on it for clean steel, ammonia, and oil refining, while **power grids** use it for renewable energy storage. In **semiconductors**, hydrogen enables chip manufacturing processes. It also produces synthetic fuels, heats buildings, and powers rockets—bridging heavy industry and cutting-edge tech for a sustainable future.



Mobility





Hydrogen powers heavy trucks through fuel cells, offering long-range, fast refueling, and zero tailpipe emissions—making it ideal for freight transport. Unlike batteries, hydrogen's high energy density and lightweight nature allow heavy-duty vehicles to maintain payload capacity while cutting carbon emissions.



Aircraft





E-bio-SAF is made by converting biomass (like crop residues) into liquid fuel using green hydrogen, creating a carbon-neutral alternative for aviation. This process maximizes sustainability by turning waste into clean jet fuel without requiring engine modifications.



Heavy Industry





Hydrogen is revolutionizing heavy industries like steelmaking by replacing coking coal in direct reduction iron (DRI) processes, enabling carbon-free "green steel" production. It also decarbonizes cement, glass and chemical manufacturing by serving as a clean high-temperature heat source and feedstock, helping these hard-to-abate sectors achieve net-zero goals.



Semiconductors





Green hydrogen is transforming the semiconductor industry by replacing fossil-based hydrogen in ultra-high-purity processes like CVD and wafer annealing, enabling carbon-neutral chip production. Its renewable origin ensures zero process emissions while meeting the strict purity demands of advanced 3nm and below node fabrication, aligning with the industry’s net-zero goals.
